Spice, Soul, and Street Food: Curry Corner Brings a Taste of India to Lock29
Food
Simmering spices and the comfort of chai are coming to Lock29, as Curry Corner opens its doors and brings the bold, vibrant flavours of Indian street food to the heart of Banbury.
Founded by Pavithra Bhaskaran, Curry Corner is more than just a culinary venture - it’s a passion project celebrating nostalgia, culture, and connection. Inspired by childhood memories of chai stalls and spice-filled markets and years spent recreating those well-loved dishes with friends and family, Pavithra has crafted a menu that delivers warmth, comfort, and unforgettable flavour.
“My love for chai and Indian street food has been a constant part of my journey - from family kitchens in India to student gatherings in the UK,” says Pavithra.
“Curry Corner was born out of a desire to make authentic Indian flavours more accessible, memorable, and comforting for everyone.”
Curry Corner serves up a bold mix of Indian classics and street food favourites - flavour-packed Indian starters, unique chai varieties, and a rotating menu of curries and chaats. A highlight is the build-your-own meal box, where customers can select their base (rice, fries, or naan), pair it with a curry, and top with a preferred protein to create a dish that’s personalised and delicious.
The menu is vegetarian-friendly, packed with rich spices, full of heart and perfect for anyone craving a satisfying alternative to fast food.
Why Lock29?
For Pavithra, Lock29 felt like a natural fit - an energetic, multicultural hub that celebrates food, creativity, and community.
“Lock29 has a creative, community-driven energy that aligns perfectly with our brand,” she explains. “It’s a place where people come not just to eat, but to experience. Banbury has a growing love for international cuisines, and we’re excited to be part of that.”
It’s the perfect introduction to a new go-to destination for fresh, nourishing Indian food.
“The wait is over - Banbury, your curry cravings have a new home,” says Pavithra.
