Something New is Cooking at Lock29: Guest Kitchen Programme

Food

Are you a street food trader, pop-up or aspiring chef in Banbury? Lock29 has announced the launch of the Lock29 Guest Kitchen Programme, an exciting new concept inviting food vendors to take over a Lock29 kitchen for 12 weeks at a time.

The idea is simple.

Launching in May 2026, the programme will introduce a new food vendor every few months, adding fresh cuisines, flavours and ideas to Lock29’s already vibrant food scene.

Successful applicants will take over a fully serviced kitchen space equipped with hot water, electricity and extraction. Traders will provide their own cooking equipment, menus and décor, allowing each residency to create its own unique identity.

Lock29 has built a strong reputation for supporting independent businesses and creating opportunities for small enterprises to grow. The new Guest Kitchen Programme will give food entrepreneurs a practical way to test their ideas, introduce their talents to new customers and gain real experience running a professional kitchen. Stuart, Site Manager at Lock29, explains:

“Lock29 has always been about championing independent businesses and giving people the opportunity to try something new. The Guest Kitchen Programme is a brilliant way for emerging food traders to step into a real kitchen, build their brand and connect with our visitors. It also means our customers will regularly see new food concepts and flavours arriving at the venue, which keeps things exciting.”

With independent traders, community events and an ever-changing food offer, Lock29 continues to evolve as a vibrant destination for food, creativity and local enterprise. The Guest Kitchen Programme promises to add another exciting ingredient to the mix.
