Introducing Sushi Me at Lock29: Real Japanese Taste, From Our Heart to Your Plate

Food

Behind this exciting new venture is Shahin, whose passion for healthy, flavour-packed cuisine has shaped every detail of Sushi Me - from its name to the carefully crafted menu.

The Inspiration Behind Sushi Me

“I’ve always been passionate about healthy and flavourful food,” says Shahin. “Japanese cuisine represents both perfectly. I wanted to share this experience with more people and bring something fresh, vibrant, and nourishing to the local food scene.”

Sushi Me was born out of a desire to combine the health benefits of Japanese cooking with a sense of welcome and approachability. And that’s exactly what the name conveys: Sushi Me – your own little sushi place.

A Menu That’s Good for You and Good for the Soul

At Sushi Me, you’ll find a beautifully curated menu of Japanese dishes designed to be as good for the body as they are for the taste buds. From fresh sushi rolls and colourful poke bowls to warming ramen, teriyaki and katsu curry bowls, every dish is made with clean ingredients and rich umami flavours.

There’s something for everyone - including vegetarian and gluten-free options - with presentation and freshness at the heart of every bowl and bento.

Why Sushi? Why Now?

It’s no surprise that sushi has overtaken even the British staple of smoked salmon sandwiches in popularity. “People are increasingly looking for meals that are both healthy and exciting,” explains Shahin. “Sushi offers exactly that. It’s fresh, visually appealing, full of flavour, and lighter than traditional fast food. Plus, it’s perfect for a quick lunch or a relaxed dinner.”

Why Banbury? Why Lock29?

For Shahin, choosing Lock29 was a no-brainer. “I was drawn to the creative, friendly, and community-driven atmosphere here. The energy is inspiring - full of smiling faces and people who appreciate good food and new experiences. It felt like the perfect place to introduce a unique and high-quality Japanese food concept.”
