Game on: Smite & Bite launches Greek gyros at Lock29
Food
Greek street food is having a serious moment right now. According to recent industry insights, it’s one of the fastest-growing food trends at major UK events. It seems we just can’t get enough of the big, bold gyros wrap.

Tapping into that growing appetite, we are welcoming Smite & Bite as the very first trader in its new Guest Kitchen programme.Chef and owner, Sotiris, has told us to expect big flavours, fast service and a menu built to hit the spot every time:
Can you briefly describe your concept and what you’ll be bringing to Lock29?
Smite & Bite comes from combining our two passions, Greek food and League of Legends. We wanted to create a concept that brings both together in a fun and memorable way. The gaming influence is reflected in the name and overall theme, inspired by the fantasy style of the game, while the food side focuses on high-quality Greek street food. It’s not a gaming venue, but more of a themed brand that adds personality and helps the concept stand out.
We’re also planning to install a screen within the kiosk to showcase gameplays from our team, adding another layer to the concept without taking away from the food-focused experience.
Do you have a signature dish or must-try item?
The chicken gyros wrap is our signature dish: marinated chicken gyros served in a fresh pitta with fries, salad, and house sauce. It’s a classic but executed with consistency and flavour.
Will there be vegetarian/vegan or special dietary options available?
Yes, we’ll offer vegetarian options such as halloumi wraps and boxes and we’re working on plant-based alternatives as well.
Can you tell us a bit about your background and journey into food?
My journey into food has been driven by a passion for strong flavours and hands-on experience in fast-paced kitchen environments.
What made you want to join the Lock29 Guest Kitchen programme?
It felt like the right place to launch and grow the brand. The energy of the space and the mix of people it attracts, it’s a great opportunity to introduce something new and build a strong local following.
Will there be any special offers or promotions for the launch event?
We’ll be running opening offers and promotions to introduce the brand, watch this space!
Smite & Bite is set to make an immediate impact with its bold, Greek flavours and marks the beginning of an exciting new phase for Lock29’s Guest Kitchen programme.
The Guest Kitchen is open from Monday 25th May. Yamas!
