Celebrating 25 Years of Local Success: The Rose Family at Lock29

We’re proud to be home to so many incredible independent traders, each with their own inspiring story. The Rose family is a shining example of the passion, resilience, and community spirit that make this place so special.
Tammy Rose, the driving force behind Roses of Bloxham, has been part of the Castle Quay and Lock29 community for an amazing 25 years. Her journey began with a single carousel outside Castle Quay and has since grown into a thriving family business with multiple outlets.
Over the years, they’ve introduced sweet stalls, slides, crepes, and even ventures like doughnuts and German sausages. Today, you’ll find them delighting visitors with fresh crepes, delicious gelato, and the ever-popular Bumper Carz, a firm family favourite at Lock29.
For Tammy, this isn’t just a business – it’s a way of life. Working weekends, school holidays and every half term, the family’s motivation has always been clear: to keep going, keep growing, and to create joyful experiences for families who come through our doors.
One of the most beautiful parts of their story? Watching generations return. As Tammy says, “We’ve watched children grow up from being on the slide and carousel to now bringing their own families to us.”
That sense of continuity and community is something we treasure deeply at Lock29.
We want to say a heartfelt thank you to the Rose family – and to every Banbury local who has supported them over the past two and a half decades. Your loyalty helps stories like this thrive.
Lock29 isn’t just a destination. It’s a home for local talent, for independent spirit, and for community-led success stories like this one.
Here’s to the next 25 years, Tammy!
