Coronavirus Update

Updated: 09.04.2021

Lock29 is a sustainable community destination that opened in Banbury in August 2020, repurposing former vacant retail space in the Castle Quay Shopping Centre. It is a space for independent food and drink artisans who offer a variety of cuisines, and an edgy independent retail offer that binds it all together. The venue features a casual pop-up cinema for secret cinema clubs and educational activities and space for events which will be open to the whole community when Government guidance allows.

Lock29 launched in the midst of a global pandemic, and since its opening has been affected by national lockdowns, as have been seen throughout the country. As restrictions gradually begin to lift, Lock29 will continue to grow and evolve whilst welcoming more customers, becoming a bustling area of activity whilst supporting local, independent businesses. This is already being seen with a number of new traders welcomed to the Lock29 family, and more to follow. With culinary delights including pizza, a variety of street food and confectionery, alongside retail offers including flowers and giftware, Lock29 is a canal side destination with something for everyone. There is more to come, as Lock29 continues to expand with new operators and we look towards the start of the opening for Castle Quay Waterfront.
